PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) continues to record positive progress in the evacuation process of KA (161) Bangunkarta at the Bumiayu Station Yard. As of Monday, April 6, at 21:30 WIB, the technical team on the ground successfully completed the re-railing of one of the three affected train cars (K3 00508) back onto the tracks. The success of this initial phase serves as a crucial step for personnel to proceed with lifting the remaining two train cars using a crane that is already positioned on-site.

Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, explained that all available resources are currently focused on clearing the track of remaining train cars obstructing the line.

"KAI is grateful and can confirm that all passengers and train crew members are safe, with no reported injuries. The company's main focus right now is to work in parallel and non-stop to accelerate infrastructure recovery so that both the upstream and downstream tracks can return to normal operation as soon as possible," said Anne.

As part of its service commitment, KAI operated 10 assistance buses to transport passengers from KA Bangunkarta and other affected train services to their destination stations via an overstappen (bus transfer) scheme. On-site response efforts have proceeded smoothly, supported by personnel from the TNI, Polri, and local government authorities. Furthermore, KAI continues to ensure the distribution of compensation in the form of food and beverages to passengers experiencing delays, in accordance with applicable regulations.

KAI expresses its deepest apologies for the inconvenience experienced by passengers due to this operational disruption.

"For the time being, operational adjustments involving route diversions and partial cancellations remain in effect to maintain overall safety and travel continuity along the southern corridor," Anne concluded.

Passengers requiring further information regarding journey status or real-time train positions can contact Customer Center 121 or reach KAI via WhatsApp at 0811-2223-3121.
