The long weekend atmosphere in early April 2026 is already underway. Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, stated that public interest in traveling by train continues to grow alongside the national holiday momentum for Good Friday on April 3, 2026, and Easter Sunday on April 5, 2026.

As of April 2, 2026, at 15:00 WIB, ticket sales for the long weekend period spanning April 2–5, 2026, reached 557,966 tickets out of the total 731,269 seat capacity, or 76.9 percent. This figure demonstrates high public enthusiasm for choosing train transport during the extended holiday.

Of total sales, 469,411 tickets were for Long-Distance Trains, representing 76 percent of the 617,733 seat capacity. Meanwhile, Local Train ticket sales reached 88,555 tickets, or 78 percent of the 113,536 seat capacity.

For departures today, Thursday, April 2, 2026, projected customer volume exceeds 183,157 passengers. This indicates that travel density has been high since the start of the long weekend, with numbers set to rise further as bookings continue.

Daily Occupancy for Long Weekend April 2–5, 2026 (as of April 2, 2026, at 15:00 WIB):
• April 2, 2026: 183,157 passengers out of 182,226 seats (100.5%)
• April 3, 2026: 139,715 passengers out of 182,026 seats (76.8%)
• April 4, 2026: 104,389 passengers out of 182,028 seats (57.3%)
• April 5, 2026: 130,705 passengers out of 181,966 seats (71.9%)

KAI views this pattern as a signal that the public has begun planning trips earlier to enjoy the long weekend with safe, comfortable, and punctual transportation. High occupancy rates across several routes also highlight strong demand for favorite destinations over this extended weekend.

KAI ensures operational readiness throughout the long weekend, including fleet maintenance, infrastructure, and customer services at stations and onboard. The public is encouraged to make bookings promptly via official channels to secure schedules that best meet their needs.

"This long weekend serves as a momentum for people to travel and enjoy journeys across various regions. Ticket availability remains open, and we are ready to serve customers safely, comfortably, and punctually on every journey," Anne concluded.
