
KAI Accelerates Landslide Recovery on the Maswati–Sasaksaat Railway Section, Targets Completion in Approximately Five Hours
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is accelerating the handling of a landslide that occurred on the Maswati – Sasaksaat (MSI–SKT) track segment on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 14:53 WIB.
Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, stated that efforts at the location are currently focused on speeding up track clearing and the evacuation of affected rolling stock so that train operations can return to normal as soon as possible.
"We are carrying out handling swiftly by involving all relevant units. Based on field estimates, this process is projected to be completed within approximately 5 hours starting from 16:30 WIB," said Anne.
Landslide material covering the track at Km 142+8/9 caused operational disruptions to KA 174 Ciremai as well as several other trains along the corridor. KAI has implemented travel adjustments as part of efforts to maintain safety and service continuity.
As the handling process continues, KAI maintains ongoing coordination across units and relevant agencies to ensure every stage proceeds safely and under control.
