
Ciremai Train No. 174 Affected by a Landslide Between Maswati and Sasaksaat, All Passengers Confirmed Safe
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) ensures that all passengers are safe following the incident involving KA 174 Ciremai, which was affected by landslide material along the Maswati – Sasaksaat (MSI–SKT) track segment on Tuesday, April 1, 2026, at 14:53 WIB.
Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, explained that landslide material covering the track at Km 142+8/9 caused operational disruptions to the journey of KA 174 Ciremai.
"All passengers are safe. There are no casualties or injuries in this incident. Our team immediately initiated handling at the location to ensure safety remains maintained," said Anne.
As a result of the incident, a number of train journeys along the corridor are undergoing operational adjustments. KAI took swift action through cross-unit and inter-agency coordination to preserve travel safety and minimize impacts on service.
At the site, KAI infrastructure and rolling stock teams are carrying out intensive handling, including the evacuation of the trainset and clearing the track of landslide debris so the line can safely resume operations as soon as possible.
"Our focus is on accelerating field handling while continuing to prioritize safety. The entire process is being conducted in a measured manner so operational travel can return to normal swiftly," added Anne.
KAI expresses its apologies for the inconvenience caused and encourages passengers to follow official information continuously updated through KAI communication channels.
