In 20 Days, KAI Facilitates More Than 4.9 Million Passenger Journeys Across Indonesia
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) records high public mobility during the 2026 Eid (Lebaran) Transport period. Over a 20-day span, KAI has moved more than 4.9 million passengers across various regions in Indonesia.
As of March 30, 2026, at 15:00 WIB, ticket bookings for the Eid Transport period spanning March 11 to April 1, 2026, reached 4,923,309 tickets—a 25.7 percent increase compared to the 2025 Eid Transport realization of 3,915,546 passengers. This figure remains dynamic and will continue to grow until the end of the transport period on April 1, 2026.
This volume reflects high daily community mobility, with peak long-distance train service reaching 247,025 passengers on H+1 of the Eid Transport period (March 23, 2026), achieving an occupancy rate of 154.1 percent. Total capacity provided during this period reached 4,498,696 seats.
"The difference between capacity growth and ticket bookings highlights strong public demand for train services during Eid," stated President Director of KAI, Bobby Rasyidin.
Of the total bookings, Long-Distance Train services recorded 4,130,168 passengers, while Local Trains served 793,141 passengers. Passenger movement developed gradually from the start of the period and reached its peak during the return flow phase with a more evenly distributed travel pattern.
Throughout the period from March 11 to March 29, 2026, KAI served 4,493,485 passengers, consisting of 3,751,188 Long-Distance Train passengers and 742,297 Local Train passengers. A more balanced mobility pattern allowed operations to continue running at optimal levels.
For departures on March 30, 2026, as of 15:00 WIB, the number of Long-Distance Train passengers reached 168,111, with potential for further increases into the evening.
Amid high mobility demands, KAI maintained strong operational performance. Throughout the 2026 Eid Transport period, KAI operated 8,844 train trips, achieving an departure punctuality rate of 99.80 percent and an arrival punctuality rate of 98.86 percent.
Bobby noted that this achievement is the result of consistent planning and evaluation.
"What is visible is the passenger's travel experience. Behind that lies a continuous system and dedicated personnel who ensure services operate safely and on time. Every event serves as evaluation material for future improvements," said Bobby.
Speaking at Pasarsenen Station on March 30, 2026, Bobby expressed appreciation to all KAI personnel for their dedication during the Eid Transport period.
This year's Eid also stimulated economic activity across various regions, with public travel contributing to increased economic and tourism activity in destination cities.
"We are grateful for the trust our passengers have placed in KAI. Every piece of feedback we receive, serves as valuable input as we continue to enhance the quality of our services," Bobby concluded.
