PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) continues to ensure the quality of its 2026 Lebaran Transportation services by placing customers as its main focus. KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin conducted a direct inspection of the Daop 9 Jember and Daop 8 Surabaya areas to review operational readiness and the customer experience in the field.

The visit began at Ketapang Station, Daop 9 Jember. Bobby inspected the station's new building and the Train Travel Controller (PPKA) room to ensure that operational processes were running smoothly and optimally supporting customer journeys.

The journey continued by Kereta Luar Biasa (KLB) to Jember. During the trip, the Daop 9 team presented the performance of Lebaran Transportation services, including travel control, punctuality, and service readiness along the route.

At Garahan Station and Ledokombo Station, Bobby greeted officers working in the field. His presence helped maintain service consistency, from operations to customer service.

Upon arriving at Jember Station, Bobby greeted customers on KA Pandalungan while also reviewing the progress of station improvements to enhance customer comfort.

The inspection continued to Daop 8 Surabaya. At Surabaya Pasarturi Station, Bobby directly reviewed customer service facilities, including the waiting room, platform, and boarding pass process. The inspection also covered the health post and interactions with Scouts and the railfans community, who also supported the smooth operation of the Lebaran Transportation Command Post.

Bobby also greeted customers directly as a form of appreciation for people traveling by train during the homecoming and return flow periods.

At Surabaya Gubeng Station, the activities continued with customer greetings, including interactions with child passengers. On the occasion, Bobby distributed Lebaran-themed souvenirs to add a warm touch to the travel experience.

Bobby emphasized that all services are focused on customer comfort and experience throughout the Lebaran Transportation period.

“We ensure that every service point operates optimally so that customers experience safe, comfortable, and enjoyable journeys. From the station, on board the train, until they reach their destination, we maintain all aspects with consistent service standards,” said Bobby.

As of March 25, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), national ticket sales for 2026 Lebaran Transportation had reached 4,394,930, or 97.7 percent of the total capacity provided during the period from March 11 to April 1, 2026. This figure reflects the high public interest in utilizing railway services during this year's Lebaran period.

KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba said that this trend indicates a shift toward increasingly planned travel patterns among the public.

“Train travel has continued to increase since mid-March and has now entered the return flow phase. Trains are becoming a preferred choice because they are comfortable, scheduled, and provide certainty in travel,” said Anne.

For Long-Distance Train services, ticket sales had reached 3,748,108, or 104.9 percent of the total capacity of 3,571,760 seats. Meanwhile, Local Trains recorded ticket sales of 646,822, or 69.8 percent of the total capacity of 926,936 seats. Seats are still available, particularly on certain routes that are not traveled in full by customers.

During the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period from March 11 to April 1, customer movement in these areas also showed high activity. In Daop 9 Jember, ticket sales reached 207,931 customers. Meanwhile, Daop 8 Surabaya recorded 461,226 customers.

“These figures demonstrate the high level of public confidence. We continue to maintain service quality so that every journey runs smoothly, on time, and provides comfort for customers,” concluded Bobby.
