PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is supporting the Free Motorcycle Transport (Mudik Motor Gratis or Motis) program initiated by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation during the 2026 Eid (Lebaran) Transport period. As the railway operator, KAI ensures that Motis train operations run safely, smoothly, and comfortably for the public.

From March 13 to March 24, 2026, the Motis train service was utilized by 25,007 passengers. This figure reflects public interest in alternative homecoming travel by train.

As of March 25, 2026, at 10:00 WIB, ticket sales for the Motis program covering the period from March 13 to March 30, 2026, reached 33,843 tickets, or approximately 60 percent of the total 56,392 seat capacity provided. This number continues to have potential for growth as the Eid Transport period progresses.

Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, stated that the Motis program provides a more orderly and managed travel option, particularly for travelers bringing motorcycles on their homecoming trips.

"The Motis program organized by DJKA Ministry of Transportation offers a safer and more comfortable travel alternative. KAI as the operator ensures that all Motis train services run smoothly so that passengers can enjoy a peaceful journey," said Anne.

The Motis train service during the 2026 Eid Transport period serves several main routes:
• North Motis: Cepu – Pasarsenen (round trip)
• Central Motis: Lempuyangan – Pasarsenen (round trip)
• South Motis: Madiun – Pasarsenen (round trip)

The program delivers benefits in supporting smooth traffic flow during both the homecoming and return flow periods. Long-distance journeys on motorcycles can be shifted to trains, thereby reducing travel risks on the road. The public can still bring their motorcycles for mobility in their destination areas.

KAI continues to maintain operational quality throughout the Eid Transport period to ensure all journeys remain orderly and comfortable, while supporting government programs designed to ease public mobility.

"We invite the public to take advantage of the Motis program during the Eid Transport period so that homecoming and return journeys run in a safer, more orderly, and comfortable manner," Anne concluded.
