Passenger movements on train services during the 2026 Eid (Lebaran) Transport period remain high. As of today, March 21, 2026, a total of 174,198 Long-Distance Train passengers are scheduled to travel within a single day, with a preliminary occupancy rate reaching 108.1 percent. This figure retains potential for growth as ticket sales remain ongoing.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) urges all passengers to exercise greater caution in safeguarding their personal belongings during their homecoming journeys, both at stations and onboard trains.

Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, emphasized that high passenger mobility must be matched with increased vigilance regarding personal items to ensure journeys remain safe and comfortable.

"Amid the high mobility during the Eid transport period, we urge passengers to always monitor and protect their belongings, particularly valuables, so they are not left behind or accidentally swapped," said Anne.

KAI continues to strengthen its Lost and Found handling service across stations and trains to provide security and peace of mind for passengers during their travels.

In January 2026, a total of 2,038 items were recovered at stations and onboard trains, with an estimated total value of Rp1,404,815,000. This number increased in February 2026 to 3,578 items, with an estimated value reaching Rp2,805,671,000. Of the total items found in February, 863 were classified as high-value items, such as mobile phones, tablets, and jewelry.

Anne explained that any item found by officers at stations or on trains will be announced via loudspeaker. If left unclaimed, the item is secured and logged in detail within the Lost and Found system.

"We prioritize data accuracy and security. Every item is inspected, logged, and stored according to procedure so it can be correctly returned to its owner," Anne explained.

For passengers who realize they have lost or left an item behind, KAI advises reporting immediately to the conductor, security staff, or Lost and Found personnel at their destination station. Passengers may also contact Contact Center KAI 121 via phone at 121 or WhatsApp at 0811-1211-1121 for further assistance.

In addition to monitoring belongings, passengers are advised to store valuable items in easily supervised locations, avoid leaving items unattended, and double-check all personal property before disembarking from the train or leaving the station premises.

"KAI hopes that the high volume of passenger movements during the 2026 Eid Transport period will continue to run in an orderly, safe, and comfortable manner, supported by passengers' growing awareness in taking care of their personal belongings," Anne concluded.
