PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) continues to ensure customer service readiness during the 2026 Eid (Lebaran) Transport period. President Director of KAI, Bobby Rasyidin, conducted an on-site inspection of customer service facilities within Regional Division (Daop) 3 Cirebon on Saturday (March 14) as part of day two activities for the Eid Transport Command Post.

The inspection was carried out at Cirebon Station and Cirebon Prujakan Station, two vital stations serving long-distance train operations along the northern coast of Java. The Cirebon region holds a strategic position within the national railway network, serving as a travel junction connecting Java's northern line and central line toward southern destinations, including routes to Yogyakarta, Purwokerto, and East Java.

This visit comes amid rising public mobility during the 2026 Eid Transport period. Passenger movement has shown an upward trend since mid-March, with long-distance train occupancy rates exceeding seating capacity over the past few days.

On March 13, 2026, KAI served 165,655 long-distance train passengers in a single day, achieving an occupancy rate of 101.4 percent out of the 163,432 seats available. This figure highlights strong public interest in traveling earlier ahead of Eid.

This trend persisted on March 14, 2026. As of 09:00 WIB, the number of passengers booking tickets for departure on that day reached 166,288, or 101.7 percent of daily available capacity. This figure retains potential for growth as ticket sales continue until 24:00 WIB.

Meanwhile, ticket sales for departure on March 15, 2026, reached 144,888 tickets, representing 88.7 percent of the total 163,432 seats provided for long-distance train services.

Overall, ticket sales for the 2026 Eid Transport period covering departures from March 11 to April 1, 2026, continue to rise. As of March 14, 2026, at 09:00 WIB, a total of 2,994,943 tickets have been sold, or 66.6 percent of the 4,498,696 total seats provided across Long-Distance and Local Train services.

For Long-Distance Train services, ticket sales reached 2,789,022, or 78.1 percent of the 3,571,760 total seats available, leaving approximately 782,738 seats open for booking for both homecoming and return journeys.

For Local Train services, ticket sales reached 205,921, or 22.2 percent of the 926,936 total seats available. Local train ticket sales generally rise closer to departure dates, as most services only open for booking 7 days prior to travel (H-7).

Passenger mobility in Regional Division (Daop) 3 Cirebon also registered growth. On March 13, 2026, train services in this division accommodated 4,763 passengers. On March 14, 2026, ticket sales reached 4,446 passengers by late afternoon, with potential for further increase as sales remain ongoing.

Throughout the 2026 Eid Transport period from March 11 to March 14, a total of 16,834 passengers were served within Daop 3 Cirebon. Cumulative ticket sales for this division for the March 11 to April 1, 2026 period reached 102,530 tickets.

Daop 3 Cirebon currently operates 28 daily long-distance train trips connecting various cities across Java. During this year's Eid Transport period, Cirebon Station recorded the highest number of arriving passengers at 12,287, followed by Cirebon Prujakan Station with 4,681 arriving passengers.

During his visit to Cirebon Station, Bobby inspected customer service facilities, including ticketing counters, Customer Service, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring rooms, health posts, and Service on Train (SOT) rooms, which act as coordination centers for train crew services during journeys.

Bobby also greeted passengers waiting for departures and engaged in dialogue with station service personnel, including porters assisting travelers with luggage.

The inspection continued to Cirebon Prujakan Station, a key station for long-distance rail travel in the Cirebon region. At this location, Bobby inspected the Free Motorcycle Transport (Motis) service for Eid, Griya Karya facilities for operational workers, the Lost and Found room, and health posts to ensure service readiness during the homecoming period.

As part of the visit, Bobby greeted waiting passengers in the station lounge and presented souvenirs as a token of appreciation for trusting train services for their homecoming journeys.

The visit at Cirebon Station was also attended by Deputy Minister of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia, Diaz Faisal Malik Hendropriyono, who joined KAI leadership in inspecting station temporary waste collection facilities (TPS). Waste management at Cirebon Station incorporates waste segregation and water stations to reduce single-use plastic bottle consumption.

Bobby stated that direct station inspections ensure optimal customer service delivery amid rising public mobility during Eid.

"Cirebon plays a crucial role as a rail travel node in Java. Many customers travel across regions through this station, making service readiness essential," said Bobby.

According to Bobby, customer service readiness remains a primary focus throughout the Eid Transport period, spanning station services, facility cleanliness, staff readiness, and medical support.

"We want to ensure every customer experiences a safe, comfortable, and seamless journey from arrival at the station until reaching their destination," Bobby added.

Concluding his visit to Cirebon, Bobby expressed appreciation to the public for their continued trust in rail transport for Eid travel.

"We extend our gratitude to all customers who entrust their journeys to the railway. This trust inspires all KAI personnel to continuously elevate service throughout the Eid Transport period," Bobby concluded.
