More Memorable Journeys, KAI Introduces Lebaran Livery and Ramadan Decorations on Trains and at Stations
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is bringing the atmosphere of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah to customers through thematic ornaments at several stations and special liveries on several flagship train sets. The decorations add warmth to customers’ travel experiences throughout the month of Ramadan and the Lebaran homecoming period.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba explained that this year’s theme is “Serving Better, Accompanying You Towards Fitrah.” The theme reflects KAI’s spirit of providing comfortable journeys while bringing the atmosphere of Ramadan to customers from the moment they arrive at the station until they are on board the train.
“Through these thematic decorations and liveries, we want to create an atmosphere of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr that customers can feel more strongly, from the station to throughout their train journey,” said Anne.
During this year’s Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period, KAI is presenting thematic Lebaran liveries on several long-distance train sets. The livery designs feature visual elements characteristic of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr placed on the exterior of the trains, making them visible to customers and the public along the railway routes.
The thematic liveries have been applied to several train sets serving major routes, namely two KA Pandalungan train sets on the Gambir–Jember route, two KA Gajayana train sets on the Malang–Gambir route, and three KA Argo Wilis/Turangga train sets on the Bandung–Surabaya Gubeng route. The livery designs are applied to the exterior of the trains, giving them a different appearance during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period.
In addition to the train sets, KAI is also decorating several stations with hanging ornaments, Ramadan-themed decorations, and Eid al-Fitr visual elements installed around entrance gates and customer service areas. Several stations are also featuring Ramadan and Lebaran-themed photo booths that customers can use to capture moments before beginning their journeys.
The improvement of the customer experience is in line with KAI’s Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), which has shown a positive trend in recent years. In 2023, KAI’s CSI score was recorded at 4.44, increasing to 4.51 in 2024 and reaching 4.52 in 2025. This trend reflects KAI’s continued efforts to improve service quality, both in travel facilities and station facilities.
During the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period, KAI is also preparing various service improvements to ensure that customers’ journeys remain comfortable. In terms of rolling stock, KAI is preparing an additional 27 locomotives and 27 train sets to support operations during the Lebaran transportation period. In addition, reserve equipment is being stationed at several operational points, including 19 locomotives, 17 generator cars, and 3 cranes to anticipate potential travel disruptions.
KAI is also strengthening station services by adding service personnel. During the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period, KAI is preparing 181 Customer Service Mobile (CSM) personnel to assist customers at stations, as well as additional operational and cleaning personnel to maintain the comfort of service areas.
Anne added that KAI continues to provide opportunities for customers to give feedback in order to improve service quality going forward. According to her, every customer travel experience is an important part of the evaluation and refinement process for KAI’s services.
“KAI is very open to hearing various feedback from customers. Every suggestion and travel experience becomes evaluation material for us to continuously improve the quality of railway services in the future,” said Anne.
Anne hopes that the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr thematic decorations presented on trains and at stations will add a warm impression for customers traveling throughout the month of Ramadan and during the Lebaran homecoming period.
“Through the thematic decorations and various service improvements we have prepared, we hope customers can experience a more comfortable and warm journey throughout Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr with KAI,” concluded Anne.
