PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded that ticket sales for the 2026 Eid (Lebaran) Transport period covering departures from March 11 to April 1, 2026, continue to show an increase. As of March 10, 2026, at 10:00 WIB, a total of 2,483,689 tickets have been sold, representing an occupancy rate of 55.2 percent out of 4,498,696 total seats provided for Long-Distance and Local Train services. With this achievement, approximately 2 million seats remain available for the public.

For Long-Distance Trains, tickets sold reached 2,392,052, or 67.0 percent out of 3,571,760 total seats available. Consequently, around 1,179,708 Long-Distance Train seats remain open for booking for both homecoming (mudik) and return travel during the Eid period.

Meanwhile, for Local Trains managed by KAI, 91,637 tickets have been sold, or roughly 9.9 percent out of 926,936 total seats provided. Local train ticket sales generally rise closer to departure dates, as most services only open for booking 7 days prior to travel (H-7).

Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, stated that the public still has ample opportunities to secure train tickets during this year's Eid Transport period.

"Ticket availability remains widely open across various routes. We encourage the public to plan their homecoming trips promptly and make use of the various schedule options and promotions available to ensure a comfortable and smooth journey," said Anne.

Based on preliminary data, the peak of the homecoming flow is predicted to occur on H-3 prior to Eid, with daily travel volume expected to reach around 247,440 passengers. This figure has the potential to increase further alongside ticket sales dynamics leading up to Eid.

Several favorite destination stations for the 2026 Eid Transport include Pasarsenen, Gambir, Yogyakarta, Bekasi, Surabaya Pasar Turi, Purwokerto, Semarang Tawang, Bandung, Surabaya Gubeng, and Jatinegara. These stations serve as primary mobility hubs heading to various destination cities across Java during the homecoming period.

KAI also invites the public to take advantage of the Ramadan Festive promotion program, which remains available on select train trips. As of March 9, 2026, at 21:00 WIB, a total of 1,872 promo tickets have been sold out of 5,460 total promo seats provided, or approximately 34.29 percent of the promo allocation. This leaves 3,588 promo tickets available for customers while quota lasts.

Additionally, the Kereta Ekonomi Kerakyatan (People's Economy Class Train) continues to be a popular travel option among passengers during this year's Eid Transport period. To date, ticket sales have reached 20,936 out of 27,368 total seats available, representing roughly 76 percent occupancy, and are expected to grow continuously heading into the peak homecoming flow.

"KAI remains committed to delivering safe, secure, comfortable, and punctual transportation services during the Eid Transport period. We invite the public to plan their journeys promptly and make use of the remaining ticket availability," Anne concluded.
