Public interest in KAI's Suite Class Compartment Train service continues to show an upward trend. During the January–February 2026 period, this service accommodated 8,236 passengers, representing a 71.96 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025, which recorded 4,789 passengers. This growth reflects the increasing demand for rail journeys that offer private space and a more personalized travel experience.

On an annual basis, growth has also remained consistent. Throughout 2025, the Suite Class Compartment Train served 42,118 passengers, a 47.8 percent increase from 2024, which recorded 28,496 passengers. This trend demonstrates that premium rail-based travel options are gaining greater traction among customers seeking both comfort and a unique journey.

Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, explained that this service was designed to deliver a quieter and more exclusive travel experience for passengers. Each journey space is set within a private compartment, allowing passengers to enjoy a more comfortable environment—whether resting, working, or enjoying long-distance travel with greater freedom.

The interior of the Suite Class Compartment Train is designed with a modern and ergonomic approach. Each compartment features full-flat reclining seats that convert into beds, personal entertainment systems, customizable lighting settings, and space ensuring privacy throughout the journey. This design creates an ambiance akin to a personal room on a train, enabling passengers to enjoy intercity travel in a more relaxed manner.

Currently, the Suite Class Compartment Train service is operated on the KA Bima (Gambir – Surabaya Gubeng round trip), KA Argo Semeru (Gambir – Surabaya Gubeng round trip), and KA Argo Bromo Anggrek (Gambir – Surabaya Pasar Turi round trip). These routes represent primary corridors connecting Jakarta with several high-mobility major cities across Java.

Travel on this train also presents opportunities to explore various tourist destinations along the route. Cities such as Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya offer diverse travel experiences, ranging from cultural and culinary tourism to heritage districts. With a comfortable travel atmosphere, passengers can begin their vacation experience right from inside the train.

Anne added that the growth in passenger numbers highlights the expanding range of rail travel options in Indonesia.

"The Suite Class Compartment Train delivers a more personal travel experience, allowing passengers to enjoy their travel time more comfortably while integrating the rail journey itself into their overall travel experience," Anne concluded.
