PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) continues to enhance service quality for customers by introducing executive class service on the KA Logawa operating on the Purwokerto – Ketapang (round trip) route starting March 6, 2026.

Previously, KA Logawa operated using a trainset consisting of 8 Premium Economy cars. KAI is now upgrading the service by altering the trainset composition to include 2 Generation 1 Stainless Steel Executive Class cars and 6 Stainless Steel Premium Economy cars, providing customers with more service class options to suit their travel needs.

Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, stated that this service addition forms part of KAI's efforts to increase customer travel comfort while fulfilling public demand for higher-quality rail transportation services.

"The addition of executive class service on KA Logawa is expected to offer an alternative for passengers seeking greater comfort during their journey. KAI continues to strive to deliver safe, comfortable, and customer-aligned transportation services," said Anne.

The Generation 1 Stainless Steel Executive Class car has a capacity of 50 seats equipped with various premium amenities, including revolving seats, reclining seats, fold-down tables, footrests, wider legroom, power outlets, and ergonomic seats designed to provide a more comfortable travel experience.

With the introduction of the executive class service, journeys on the Purwokerto – Ketapang KA Logawa become more flexible as passengers can select the service class that best suits their needs, whether executive class or premium economy.

KA Logawa serves various stations along the southern and eastern corridors of Java Island, including Purwokerto, Kroya, Kebumen, Kutoarjo, Lempuyangan, Klaten, Purwosari, Sragen, Ngawi, Madiun, Nganjuk, Jombang, Mojokerto, Surabaya Gubeng, Sidoarjo, Bangil, Pasuruan, Probolinggo, Jember, up to Ketapang.

For the Purwokerto – Ketapang journey, KA Logawa departs from Purwokerto Station at 06:45 WIB and arrives at Ketapang Station at 21:20 WIB. Meanwhile, the Ketapang – Purwokerto journey departs from Ketapang Station at 06:15 WIB and arrives at Purwokerto Station at 20:20 WIB.

"KAI hopes this service enhancement provides an increasingly comfortable rail travel experience while encouraging the public to switch to safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly mass transportation," Anne concluded.
