PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded continued growth in ticket sales for the 2026 Eid Transport Period for departures from March 11 to April 1, 2026. This trend shows that the public is increasingly proactive in planning their journeys early to secure schedules that meet their needs.

As of February 23, 2026 at 07:00 WIB, 1,659,819 tickets had been sold out of a total of 3,872,810 seats prepared. The temporary occupancy rate stands at 42.85 percent. Therefore, more than half of the capacity remains available, giving customers ample flexibility to choose their travel dates, departure times, and routes.

The highest sales are currently concentrated on long-distance routes across Java and Sumatra. The ten routes with the highest number of customers include Gambir–Yogyakarta (18,515 customers), Yogyakarta–Gambir (16,807 customers), Gambir–Semarang Tawang (14,105 customers), Pasarsenen–Lempuyangan (13,483 customers), Surabaya Pasar Turi–Pasarsenen (12,802 customers), Pasarsenen–Kutoarjo (12,743 customers), Lempuyangan–Pasarsenen (12,571 customers), Gambir–Purwokerto (11,999 customers), Pasarsenen–Surabaya Pasar Turi (11,791 customers), and Gambir–Cirebon (11,568 customers). These figures remain dynamic and continue to increase as the homecoming period approaches.

Based on departure dates, March 23, 2026 is currently the date with the highest sales, with 120,858 customers. This is followed by March 24, 2026 with 117,476 customers, March 19, 2026 with 108,494 customers, and March 18, 2026 with 107,668 customers. Although several popular dates are beginning to fill up, seat availability on other days remains relatively ample, allowing the public to maintain flexible travel options.

Vice President Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba encouraged customers to finalize their travel plans soon so that optimal choices remain available.

“Planning early provides greater flexibility in choosing schedules. When popular dates begin to fill up, customers can consider alternative dates or utilize connecting train options for their onward journey,” said Anne.

In addition, a 30 percent fare incentive from the government is available for travel from March 14 to 29, 2026. This program provides an opportunity for the public to arrange their journeys at a more affordable cost while choosing a more convenient departure time.

KAI reminds customers to purchase tickets through official channels, such as the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, and authorized sales partners. This is important to ensure transaction security and smooth journeys during the 2026 Eid Transport Period.
