PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded continued growth in ticket sales for the 2026 Eid Transport period, covering departures from March 11 to April 1, 2026. This trend shows that people have begun arranging their travel plans earlier.

As of February 22, 2026 at 7:00 a.m. WIB, a total of 1,621,413 tickets had been sold out of the 3,872,810 seats provided. The temporary occupancy rate stood at 41.86 percent. This means that more than half of the total capacity remains available, giving passengers plenty of choices in terms of schedules and routes.

The highest demand so far has been seen on long-distance routes across Java and Sumatra. The ten routes with the highest number of passengers are:

  1. Gambir – Yogyakarta: 18,067 passengers

In terms of departure dates, the highest ticket sales so far were recorded for March 23, 2026, with 117,608 passengers. This was followed by March 24, 2026, with 114,784 passengers, March 19, 2026, with 106,717 passengers, and March 18, 2026, with 105,725 passengers. Although several dates are beginning to fill up, many other dates still have sufficient seat availability.

KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba reminded the public to arrange their travel plans as soon as possible.

“The sooner the trip is planned, the greater the opportunity to secure a suitable schedule. If preferred dates are becoming crowded, passengers can consider alternative dates or utilize connecting train options,” said Anne.

For the period from March 14 to 29, 2026, the government is also providing a 30 percent fare incentive. Passengers can take advantage of this opportunity to arrange their trips more flexibly.

KAI encourages passengers to purchase tickets through official channels such as the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, and authorized sales partners to ensure secure transactions and a more comfortable journey.
