
1.58 Million Lebaran 2026 Tickets Sold, Many Travel Options Still Available
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) announced that ticket sales for the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period for departures from March 11 to April 1, 2026, continue to show an increase.
As of February 21, 2026, at 07:00 WIB, a total of 1,583,635 tickets had been sold out of 3,872,810 available seats prepared. The provisional occupancy rate stood at 40.87 percent, meaning that the public still has a variety of travel schedules and routes to choose from.
The highest travel demand so far has been recorded on several long-distance routes across Java and Sumatra. The ten trains with the highest number of customers as of February 21, 2026, at 07:00 WIB are:
- KA Airlangga (Pasar Senen–Surabaya Pasarturi pp): 60,325 customers
- KA Serayu (Pasar Senen–Kiaracondong–Purwokerto pp): 49,365 customers
- KA Bengawan (Pasar Senen–Purwosari pp): 48,663 customers
- KA Sri Tanjung (Ketapang–Lempuyangan pp): 46,340 customers
- KA Kahuripan (Kiaracondong–Blitar pp): 43,812 customers
- KA Sawunggalih (Kutoarjo–Pasar Senen pp): 41,842 customers
- KA Rajabasa (Kertapati–Tanjungkarang pp): 39,994 customers
- KA Pasundan Tambahan (Kiaracondong–Surabaya Gubeng pp): 37,047 customers
- KA Joglosemarkerto (Solo Balapan–Purwokerto–Tegal–Semarang Tawang–Solo Balapan pp): 36,683 customers
- KA Probowangi (Surabaya Gubeng–Ketapang pp): 28,976 customers
The departure dates with the highest provisional sales were March 23, 2026, with 114,113 customers, followed by March 24, 2026, with 112,758 customers, March 19, 2026, with 104,808 customers, and March 18, 2026, with 103,718 customers. Although demand has increased on several dates, the public can still choose alternative dates with relatively greater availability.
Vice President Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba encouraged the public to plan their journeys early in order to secure schedules that meet their needs.
“We encourage customers to plan their journeys in advance. If their preferred dates are becoming crowded, customers can consider alternative departure dates or utilize the connecting train option,” said Anne.
During the period from March 14 to 29, 2026, a 30 percent fare incentive is available as part of the government’s policy to support public mobility during the Lebaran period.
KAI reminds customers to purchase tickets through the company’s official channels, namely the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, and official sales partners, in order to ensure transaction security and travel convenience.
