Vice President of Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba stated that train operations generally ran smoothly during the long holiday period.

“All journeys along the southern railway line of Java operated normally. On the northern line, particularly in the Daop 4 Semarang area, operational arrangements were temporarily implemented due to water overflow at several points. The situation has now gradually returned to normal,” said Anne.

There were three water accumulation points in the Daop 4 Semarang area that affected train operations on the northern line. On the Tegowanu–Brumbung section at BH 46 Km 21+9/0 and the Gubug–Tegowanu section at BH 59 Km 27+9/0, a temporary speed restriction, Taspat 60 km per hour, was imposed on both the upstream and downstream tracks.

Meanwhile, on the Karangjati–Gubug section at Km 32+5/7, the downstream track was temporarily placed under Semboyan 3 starting at 10:08 a.m. WIB. As of the latest update at 11:27 a.m. WIB, conditions had gradually recovered, with a limited speed of 20 km per hour, while the upstream track remained in normal condition.

These measures were implemented as preventive steps to ensure travel safety. Gradually, train journeys along the affected sections returned to operation in accordance with operational regulations.

“KAI apologizes for the inconvenience experienced by some customers on the northern line. We also appreciate our customers’ patience during the handling process. The infrastructure team continues to monitor water levels and conduct regular inspections to ensure the safety and smooth operation of trains traveling along the affected sections,” concluded Anne.

Customers traveling by train along the northern line are encouraged to stay updated through the KAI Contact Center 121, WhatsApp at 0811-2223-3121, or KAI 121’s official social media channels.

KAI remains committed to maintaining the safety, security, and reliability of its services amid high public mobility during the long holiday period.
