
First Day of the 2026 Imlek Long Holiday Projected to See 172,392 Customers Traveling by Train
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) stated that train tickets for the 2026 Imlek long holiday period are still available and can be utilized by the public to plan trips with family and relatives. Sales trends show an increase as the holiday period approaches.
Based on monitoring data as of February 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. WIB, a total of 604,642 tickets had been sold for departures from February 13–17, 2026, out of a total capacity of 824,517 seats provided. This figure may still increase as ticket sales continue until the departure date.
On the first day of the long holiday, Friday, February 13, 2026, the number of customers departing is projected to reach 172,392, exceeding the capacity of 164,153 seats. This figure remains dynamic and may increase as ticket sales continue on the departure date.
The temporary occupancy rate was recorded at 105.02 percent. A figure above 100 percent is possible due to dynamic customers, namely customers who board and alight at stations along the route before reaching their final destination.
The sales details by departure date are as follows:
- February 13: 172,392 customers out of 164,153 seats
- February 14: 143,172 customers out of 163,830 seats
- February 15: 105,583 customers out of 165,163 seats
- February 16: 82,405 customers out of 166,090 seats
- February 17: 101,090 customers out of 165,281 seats
The ten routes with the highest number of customers during the 2026 Imlek long holiday period include:
- Yogyakarta – Gambir: 10,632 customers
- Gambir – Yogyakarta: 8,888 customers
- Gambir – Semarang Tawang: 7,012 customers
- Semarang Tawang – Gambir: 6,838 customers
- Lempuyangan – Pasarsenen: 6,522 customers
- Gambir – Bandung: 5,827 customers
- Bandung – Gambir: 5,609 customers
- Pasarsenen – Lempuyangan: 5,554 customers
- Yogyakarta – Surabaya Gubeng: 4,677 customers
- Sukabumi – Bogor Paledang: 4,555 customers
Vice President of Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba encouraged the public to plan their journeys early and secure tickets before capacity becomes more limited.
“We encourage customers to plan their journeys early and use KAI’s official channels to obtain accurate and secure information. Tickets can be booked through the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, or official sales partners. Service information is also available through the KAI Contact Center 121,” said Anne.
