PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) announced that regular train ticket sales for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr Transportation period continue to show positive developments. To date, public interest in train services during the homecoming period continues to increase as ticket sales are opened gradually.

In managing the 2026 Eid al-Fitr Transportation period, ticket sales are conducted according to the H-45 scheme before the departure date. Through this scheme, ticket bookings have been opened gradually for departures from H-3, H-2, H-1, to H1 Eid al-Fitr, providing sufficient time for the public to plan their journeys in advance.

Vice President of Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba explained that as of February 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), customer interest in regular train services during the peak homecoming period continued to show an upward trend.

For departures on H-3 Eid al-Fitr, or March 18, 2026, tickets sold had reached 56,685. Ticket sales for H-2 Eid al-Fitr, or March 19, 2026, reached 58,759 tickets. For H-1 Eid al-Fitr, or March 20, 2026, tickets sold reached 45,002, while on H1 Eid al-Fitr, or March 21, 2026, 33,736 tickets had been booked.

Based on these data, H-3 and H-2 Eid al-Fitr remain the departure dates most preferred by customers. This pattern reflects the tendency of people to choose earlier homecoming dates in order to arrange their journeys more comfortably.

The implementation of the gradual H-45 ticket sales scheme also supports more balanced passenger flow management, while providing flexibility for the public to determine departure dates and routes according to their needs.

Anne added that planning journeys in advance makes it easier for customers to choose available schedules and regular train services. By monitoring the ticket sales opening schedule, customers can adjust their travel plans more optimally.

Cumulatively, as of February 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), regular Eid al-Fitr train ticket sales for the departure period that had been opened, namely March 11 to March 21, 2026, had reached 435,708 tickets. This number is expected to continue increasing as the next stages of ticket sales opening proceed.

Based on preliminary data, the ten trains with the highest passenger volumes during the period include:

  1. KA Airlangga on the Pasar Senen (Jakarta) – Surabaya Pasar Turi (PP) route: 24,884 customers
  2. KA Bengawan on the Purwosari (Solo) – Pasar Senen (Jakarta) (PP) route: 21,714 customers
  3. KA Kahuripan on the Kiaracondong (Bandung) – Blitar (PP) route: 19,015 customers
  4. KA Serayu on the Pasar Senen (Jakarta) – Purwokerto (PP) route: 18,364 customers
  5. KA Sri Tanjung on the Ketapang (Banyuwangi) – Lempuyangan (Yogyakarta) (PP) route: 17,364 customers
  6. KA Sawunggalih on the Kutoarjo – Pasar Senen (PP) route: 14,169 customers
  7. KA Rajabasa on the Kertapati – Tanjung Karang (PP) route: 13,019 customers
  8. KA Probowangi on the Surabaya Gubeng – Ketapang (PP) route: 10,090 customers

  10. KA Kutojaya Selatan on the Kutoarjo – Kiaracondong (Bandung) (PP) route: 8,847 customers

The high interest in these train services is influenced by interregional connectivity, the characteristics of long-distance travel, and the availability of schedules that support public mobility during the homecoming period.

KAI encourages customers who have not yet obtained tickets for their desired dates or routes to continue monitoring the opening of subsequent ticket sales according to the established stages. Customers can also utilize the connecting train feature through the Access by KAI application to arrange more flexible travel plans.

In closing, Anne encouraged the public to purchase tickets through KAI’s official sales channels, such as the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, and official sales partners collaborating with KAI.

“We encourage the public to carefully plan their homecoming journeys and monitor the ticket sales opening schedule. Service information and ticket bookings can be accessed through the Access by KAI application or the KAI Contact Center 121,” said Anne.
