PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) through Regional Division 4 Semarang announced that as of Saturday (17/1), both the upstream and downstream tracks on the Pekalongan Station–Sragi Station stretch, specifically at KM 88+6/7, remain impassable due to standing water covering both rail tracks.

Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, stated that the track closure remains in effect as a precautionary safety measure to prioritize the journey safety of trains and passengers.

"Safety is our top priority. Until track conditions are completely safe for passage, KAI is maintaining the track closure and adjusting train operational patterns," Anne said.

Anne explained that KAI infrastructure teams continue to conduct intensive monitoring of standing water levels at the site, including at the Pekalongan Station yard area affected by waterlogging, which has caused several track switches to show a red signal status.

As part of operational mitigation, KAI has placed on standby and dispatched a specialized BB 304 locomotive, which offers greater technical reliability in navigating track conditions with specific water levels. In addition, KAI has implemented rerouting for several train services.

Rerouted Trains (as of 05:30 WIB):
1. Train 30F Anjasmoro – via Tegal–Prupuk–Kroya–Solobalapan–Gundih–Gambringan
2. Train 92 Jayabaya – via Tegal–Prupuk–Kroya–Solobalapan–Gundih–Gambringan
3. Train 96 Harina – via Tegal–Prupuk–Kroya–Solobalapan–Gundih–Gambringan
4. Train 197 Kamandaka – via Semarang Tawang–Brumbung–Gundih–Solobalapan–Kroya–Cilacap

In addition to travel adjustments, KAI is providing service recovery to affected passengers in accordance with applicable regulations. However, due to track conditions that still do not permit safe passage, KAI has canceled several train trips.

Canceled Trains (as of 05:30 WIB):
1. Train 217 Kaligung on the Semarang Poncol–Cirebon Prujakan route
2. Train 23 Merbabu on the Semarang Tawang–Gambir route
3. Train 216 Kaligung on the Tegal–Semarang Poncol route
4. Train 24 Merbabu on the Gambir–Semarang Tawang route

"All measures regarding travel adjustments, rerouting, and service cancellations are implemented as part of KAI's commitment to maintaining operational safety and service reliability," Anne emphasized.

Based on the latest monitoring as of 07:49 WIB, standing water levels at KM 88+6/7 show a decreasing and stable trend, with calm water conditions and cloudy weather. Field response and monitoring continue to be conducted strictly and continuously.

"KAI apologizes for the inconvenience experienced by passengers. We will continue to provide regular updates regarding operational status and track management to the public," Anne concluded.
