PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) continues to maintain its commitment to contributing to sustainable economic development that directly impacts the improvement of the quality of life and the environment of communities. Throughout 2025, KAI successfully disbursed IDR 32,242,893,703 in Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) funds. This figure represents a very significant increase compared to the 2024 disbursement realization of IDR 19,301,522,216.

Acting Executive Vice President of Corporate Secretary of KAI Wisnu Pramudyo stated that the increase in disbursements reflects the company’s focus on programs that address the real needs of communities and are aligned with the sustainable development agenda.

“All programs are designed based on needs in the field so that their benefits can be felt evenly across various areas of KAI’s operations. Through CSR, KAI seeks to be closer to communities through an approach that is sustainable, measurable, and relevant to the social and economic conditions surrounding the company’s operational areas,” said Wisnu.

Throughout 2025, KAI’s CSR disbursements were allocated through three main integrated programs, namely the MSME Development and Empowerment Program, Environmental Development, and Community Relations. These three programs work in synergy to strengthen the local economy, improve social welfare, and establish harmonious relationships between the company and the community in support of inclusive economic self-reliance.

To encourage business self-reliance, KAI has established a comprehensive MSME development ecosystem under the MiKA (Mitra KAI) program. Strengthening business profiles begins through MiKA Certified, which provides support for fulfilling business certifications such as Business Identification Number (NIB), PIRT, Halal, BPOM, and Intellectual Property Rights (HKI), enabling supported partners to build strong legal competitiveness. These business capabilities are then further developed through MiKA Next Class, which equips partners with financial management skills, digital marketing strategies, and human resource development to make their businesses more resilient in facing market dynamics.

KAI also provides a platform for local products through MiKA Exhibition by opening market access in the company’s business process areas as well as at national-scale exhibitions. This is further strengthened by MiKA Creative Space as a facility for showcasing featured products in public areas to foster a creative business ecosystem. As the culmination, for partners that have achieved advanced qualifications, the MiKA Go Global program facilitates MSMEs in marketing and developing their products internationally, in line with support for the Sustainable Development Goals concerning decent work and economic growth.

Meanwhile, the Environmental Development Program continues to be implemented through grants covering seven main sectors, ranging from assistance for victims of natural disasters and support for education and healthcare to environmental conservation and places of worship. Through the Community Relations program, KAI builds harmonious relationships with communities using a Creating Shared Value approach, which includes railway travel safety awareness activities and social service initiatives. Wisnu added that all of these programs are expected to strengthen public trust and provide tangible contributions to community welfare and sustainable national development.
