PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has prepared 649,780 seats to serve public mobility during the Isra Mikraj long holiday. This readiness supports smooth customer journeys for those using trains to take holidays, visit family and friends, or explore various tourist destinations in a number of destination cities.

As of January 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. WIB, ticket sales had reached 347,381 tickets, with an occupancy rate of 53.46 percent. This achievement shows that travel interest has remained strong since the beginning of the holiday period, as trains have become a comfortable and scheduled mode of transportation of choice.

Customer movements were recorded evenly throughout each day. On January 15, 2026, 101,470 tickets were sold, followed by 85,971 tickets on January 16, 60,052 tickets on January 17, and 99,888 tickets on January 18. This pattern reflects increased travel activity approaching the end of the long holiday weekend.

To accommodate this demand, KAI is also operating additional trains with a total of 45,791 seats, consisting of 34,287 executive-class seats and 11,504 economy-class seats. The additional capacity provides travel flexibility while maintaining service reliability on popular routes.

During this long holiday period, the routes with the highest customer volumes were dominated by routes to tourist cities and cultural centers. The ten most popular routes included Yogyakarta–Gambir (6,764 customers), Gambir–Yogyakarta (6,469 customers), Lempuyangan–Pasar Senen (5,244 customers), Pasar Senen–Lempuyangan (4,829 customers), Gambir–Semarang Tawang (3,741 customers), Semarang Tawang–Gambir (3,545 customers), Gambir–Bandung (3,402 customers), Bandung–Gambir (3,296 customers), Yogyakarta–Gambir (3,110 customers), and Bandung–Yogyakarta (3,004 customers).

Vice President Corporate Communication of KAI Anne Purba stated that the high movement on these routes further strengthens public access to tourist destinations, culinary centers, and cultural areas. Rail-based connectivity provides travel convenience that contributes to economic activity in destination areas during the long holiday.

KAI continues to monitor customer travel dynamics and ensure that services operate in line with the mobility needs of the public.

“Information regarding ticket availability and service updates can be accessed through Contact Center 121 (telephone and WhatsApp 0811-2223-3121) 24 hours a day, the Access by KAI application, as well as KAI’s official social media accounts,” Anne concluded.
