PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded positive performance in supporting government policies through the implementation of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year transportation period. From December 18, 2025 to January 4, 2026, KAI ensured that rail-based public transportation services operated in an orderly, safe, and punctual manner, in line with the program of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation to support smooth national mobility.

One of the strategic programs that received a strong response from the public was the Free Motorcycle Transportation (Motis) program. This program provides a safe and efficient travel alternative for travelers, while also supporting the government’s efforts to reduce road traffic congestion during the long holiday period.

During the 2025/2026 Nataru transportation period, the Motis service operated along two main routes. The Northern Route served Kampung Bandan – Pasarsenen – Bekasi – Cirebon Prujakan – Tegal – Pekalongan – Semarang Tawang. Meanwhile, the Central Route served Kampung Bandan – Pasarsenen – Bekasi – Cirebon Prujakan – Purwokerto – Kebumen – Kutoarjo – Lempuyangan – Purwosari. Registration for the Motis program was open from December 1 to 29, 2025, with the program running from December 23, 2025 to January 5, 2026.

As of January 5, 2026, the cumulative number of Motis registrants reached 5,923 passengers, with 5,334 motorcycles transported and a total of 21,213 passengers recorded. This achievement represents a significant increase compared to the 1,868 motorcycles transported during the 2024/2025 Nataru Motis period, or a growth of 286 percent. The increase reflects the public’s high level of trust in the program jointly implemented by KAI and the Ministry of Transportation.

Overall, throughout the 2025/2026 Nataru transportation period, KAI served 4,179,095 passengers, an increase of 12.02 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Operational performance remained well maintained, with departure punctuality reaching 99.68 percent and arrival punctuality reaching 96.13 percent, reflecting consistent service performance during a period of high mobility.

KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba expressed her appreciation to the public for the trust placed in railway services during the Christmas and New Year transportation period.

“Thank you to all passengers and stakeholders who entrusted their year-end holiday journeys to KAI. We continue to strengthen our digital and operational services to make railway journeys increasingly reliable, safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly,” said Anne.

Going forward, KAI is committed to continuing to strengthen technology-based services and improve operational quality as part of the company’s transformation. These efforts are aimed at strengthening the role of railways as a public transportation mode that supports national mobility and sustainable economic growth.
