PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is implementing operational adjustments for long-distance and medium-distance train services ahead of the New Year 2026 celebration. The adjustments are prepared to anticipate potential traffic congestion and road diversions at several strategic points in Jakarta and Yogyakarta from Wednesday–Thursday, December 31, 2025, to January 1, 2026.

In the Jakarta area, KAI is implementing Extraordinary Stops (BLB) for 26 long-distance and medium-distance train services at Jatinegara Station. All trains will continue serving Gambir Station according to schedule, with temporary additional stops at Jatinegara Station as an alternative access point for customers.

Meanwhile, in the Yogyakarta area, KAI is also implementing BLB for 35 train services at Lempuyangan Station in response to potential traffic congestion and road closures around Yogyakarta Station during the New Year celebration period.

Vice President Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba stated that these arrangements were prepared to ensure train journeys remain safe, orderly, and smooth amid increasing public mobility.

“These operational adjustments are implemented to maintain smooth train operations while providing flexible access options for customers during the New Year celebration period,” said Anne.

Customers may choose to board or get off at Jatinegara Station or Lempuyangan Station without any changes to their ticket schedules. All train journeys will continue serving the main stations according to operational provisions.

KAI encourages customers to arrive at stations earlier, adjust their travel time accordingly, and follow official information through station officers, the Access by KAI application, and official KAI communication channels.
