Cepu Station continues to strengthen its role as one of the main transportation gateways in Blora Regency. Strategically located on Java's northern railway corridor, the station has become an increasingly popular travel hub for commuters, students, business travelers, and tourists.

From January to May 2026, Cepu Station served 138,786 departing passengers, representing a 22.03% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, 142,920 passengers arrived at the station, marking a 23.76% growth year-on-year.

Overall, Cepu Station recorded 281,706 passenger movements during the first five months of 2026, an increase of 22.90% compared with 229,218 passengers during the same period in 2025.

KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba said the positive growth reflects the station's expanding role in supporting community mobility while contributing to regional economic development.

Cepu demonstrates how a railway station can connect people with work, education, commerce, and tourism. KAI remains committed to providing reliable transportation services that help connect the people of Blora and surrounding areas with major cities across Java.

The station's growth is closely linked to Cepu's strong regional potential. According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Cepu District is home to more than 77,000 residents, with the majority belonging to the productive working-age population. This demographic continues to drive demand for transportation for work, education, business, and daily activities.

Beyond its long-standing reputation as one of Indonesia's historic oil and gas centers, Cepu also offers significant potential in forestry, agriculture, and tourism. Improved railway connectivity has made these opportunities increasingly accessible.

Anne added that railway services provide efficient and reliable transportation for workers, students, entrepreneurs, small businesses, traders, families, and tourists alike.

Better railway access creates more opportunities for communities. Businesses can operate more efficiently, workers and students enjoy reliable transportation, and visitors can explore Blora's attractions with greater comfort and convenience.

Cepu Station currently serves Blora Jaya (Semarang Poncol–Cepu), Blorasura Commuter Line (Surabaya Pasar Turi–Cepu), as well as several long-distance trains operating along Java's northern corridor.

The improved connectivity also makes it easier for travelers to visit local attractions, including the Heritage Trainz Loco Tour, a heritage tourism destination that showcases Cepu's rich railway and industrial history.

Looking ahead, KAI remains committed to enhancing services at Cepu Station, ensuring it continues to support community mobility while promoting Blora's economic, educational, business, and tourism potential across the region.
