Still looking for ideas to make the most of the school holiday weekend? Now is the perfect time to plan a memorable getaway with family. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) invites travelers to take advantage of the government's 30% train fare discount program, provided through the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA), Ministry of Transportation. The promotion remains valid for travel until 5 July 2026, giving customers more opportunities to enjoy affordable, comfortable, and hassle-free journeys by train.
Public enthusiasm for the program continues to grow. As of 26 June 2026 at 10:00 WIB, a total of 924,105 discounted tickets had been booked, representing 78.67% of the total allocation of 1,174,624 seats. This means that 250,519 discounted tickets are still available for customers while the promotional quota lasts.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba said that weekends during the school holiday period remain one of the most popular times for families to travel together. She encouraged customers to plan their trips early, regularly check ticket availability, and choose their preferred departure schedules through the Access by KAI application for a smoother travel experience.
There is still an opportunity for the public to enjoy the government's 30% train fare discount through DJKA of the Ministry of Transportation. As we approach the weekend, we encourage customers to carefully choose their travel schedules so they can enjoy a comfortable, well-planned, and enjoyable journey with their families.
The strong demand for the promotion is reflected in booking trends during the early holiday period and weekends. The highest number of bookings was recorded on 21 June 2026 with 82,061 tickets, followed by 26 June with 80,544 tickets, and 20 June with 77,505 tickets. For the upcoming weekend, bookings reached 71,473 tickets for 27 June and 68,312 tickets for 28 June.

These dates may offer families greater flexibility and a more comfortable travel experience.
