KA BIAS Now Reaches Madiun, Making Travel Easier Than Ever

For residents of Madiun, traveling to Adi Soemarmo International Airport has now become much easier. Since November 2, 2024, KAI has expanded its integrated transportation service by introducing the Adi Soemarmo Airport Train (BIAS), which now extends to Madiun. With this new route, passengers have a fast and practical transportation option connecting the airport with cities along the line, making travel between regions more convenient.

The BIAS Madiun service operates two round trips daily between Adi Soemarmo Airport Station and Madiun Station. KAI hopes this service will not only simplify airport access but also strengthen connectivity for tourists visiting destinations around Madiun. The presence of KA BIAS is also expected to support local economic growth and tourism development along the route.

The train stops at nine stations: Madiun, Magetan, Ngawi, Walikukun, Sragen, Solojebres, Solobalapan, Kadipiro, and Adi Soemarmo. This route is designed to allow passengers to continue their journeys using long-distance trains or commuter services at major stations such as Solojebres and Solobalapan, improving overall mobility. The travel time between Madiun and Adi Soemarmo Airport is approximately 1 hour 59 minutes, offering efficient travel for passengers.

During its initial operation in November 2024, KA BIAS Madiun uses KRDI (Indonesian Diesel Rail Train) sets with a capacity of up to 190 seats and a total passenger capacity of up to 150%, allowing both seated and standing passengers. This reflects KAI’s commitment to providing safe, efficient, and passenger-friendly transportation services.

Tickets for KA BIAS can be purchased via the Access by KAI app up to seven days before departure. For same-day travel, tickets are also available at station counters starting three hours before departure. Throughout November 2024, KAI offers promotional fares ranging from Rp7,000 to Rp40,000, depending on the selected route, encouraging more passengers to try the service.
