KAI’s Offer on National Customer Day 2023
KAI is committed to continuously providing the best service to all customers. Customer satisfaction is one of the core values that drives all KAI personnel to deliver optimal service. As a form of appreciation for loyal customers, in commemoration of National Customer Day which fell on September 4, 2023, KAI held customer greeting activities and distributed attractive souvenirs across its operational areas.

The souvenirs distributed included train ticket vouchers, goodie bags, t-shirts, tumblers, pouches, and various other attractive gifts. These souvenirs were given to customers who had downloaded and actively booked train tickets through the Access application. In addition, passengers on trains and those in station waiting areas also had the opportunity to receive souvenirs. Customers who had birthdays on September 4 also received surprise birthday cakes.
Not only that, in Daop 6 Yogyakarta, flash mobs and live music performances were also presented to entertain customers at Yogyakarta Station. This flash mob was performed by Daop 6 management and joined by several frontliners and other professional staff.
Uniquely, the entire management of Daop 6 Yogyakarta directly went to the station to greet and serve customers by acting as frontliners. They served as ticketing officers, boarding officers, face recognition boarding gate officers, attendants, and even porters. In addition, they also performed a respectful greeting gesture by crossing the right hand over the chest while bowing the head, as a form of gratitude for the trust given to KAI so far.
Many train customers were enthusiastic and welcomed KAI’s annual event positively. One of them, a customer named Belti, expressed gratitude and hopes that KAI will continue to grow and develop in the future.
Appreciation was not only given to customers but also to retired KAI employees who are members of Parpenka (Association of Railway Retirees). They were invited to take a train journey from Yogyakarta to Purwokerto to visit the Putri Gunung Baturaden tourist destination.
KAI continues to innovate to provide comfort for its customers. Starting September 17, 2023, there will be a 20% discount on executive, business, and economy class train tickets for passengers with disabilities.
“This permanent discount for disabled customers is KAI’s gift on National Customer Day for our brothers and sisters who have physical, intellectual, mental, and/or long-term sensory limitations,” said VP Public Relations KAI Joni Martinus.
To obtain this reduction facility, persons with disabilities must register at the station customer service no later than H-2 before departure. The registration requires an original medical certificate from a hospital or public health center stating that the person is a person with a disability.
Registration can be represented by another person by bringing the original medical certificate, original ID card, and a passport photo of the disabled passenger being registered.
“This registration only needs to be done once. After that, passengers can purchase discounted tickets through the Access application or at station counters. During boarding and inspection on the train, passengers must show their original ID or disability certificate,” Joni explained.
KAI will continue to provide the best service to all customers wherever they are. With this discount for disabled customers, it is expected to make it easier for those with limitations to travel by train.
“Happy National Customer Day, thank you for trusting trains as a healthy, safe, and comfortable mode of transportation,” he concluded.
