KAI Provides Special Eid Train Tickets for Motis Participants

To enhance the safety of holiday travelers, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is operating the Free Motorcycle Transportation (Motis) program using trains, as well as providing special Lebaran Transportation tickets dedicated to Motis participants. A quota for free motorcycle transportation is available for 9,280 motorcycle units, along with 13,800 special Lebaran train seats for Motis participants.

The following is the list of train travel routes available for purchase by Motis participants:

1. Pasar Senen - Semarang Tawang (round-trip) route
2. Pasar Senen - Purwosari (round-trip) route

The terms and conditions for purchasing the tickets are as follows:

1. Only applicable for Motis Participants.
2. 1 motorcycle is valid for a maximum of 3 tickets.
3. Passenger tickets must match the same route and travel date as the motorcycle shipment.
4. Departure periods are April 26–30 and May 5–9.
5. In-person purchases can be made at all stations serving Motis (Jakarta Gudang, Cirebon Prujakan, Tegal, Pekalongan, Semarang Tawang, Purwokerto, Kutoarjo, Kroya, Lempuyangan, Klaten, and Purwosari stations).

6. Purchased tickets cannot be canceled or rescheduled.

“KAI provides this train ticket quota for Motis participants specifically for members of the public who want to join the Motis program but have not yet secured their train tickets,” said KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus.

One of the requirements to participate in the Motis program is to present a train, bus, or travel ticket. With this special quota, prospective Motis participants can now immediately purchase train tickets and register their motorcycles to be shipped to the destination station, as long as the quota for the desired route is still available.

"KAI invites the public to utilize the free motorcycle transportation program and the special passenger transport for Motis participants, thereby reducing the use of two-wheeled vehicles for homecoming journeys," Joni concluded.

The Free Motorcycle Transportation (Motis) Program is organized by the Government through the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, appointing KAI Group through KAI Logistik to handle the 2022 Motis shipments, with operational dates running from April 26 to May 9, 2022.

As of April 22, 2022, a total of 1,632 Motis participants have registered to ship their motorcycles by train, and 1,467 Motis participants are utilizing trains for their homecoming and return trips. The favorite dates for Motis shipments are April 27, 29, and 30, 2022, with Kutoarjo, Semarang Tawang, and Lempuyangan being the preferred destinations.
