PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) continues to provide excellent service to all its customers. Customer satisfaction remains one of the key motivations for every KAI employee to deliver the best possible service. To commemorate National Customer Day, which fell on 4 September, KAI distributed souvenirs to train passengers across its Operational Areas (Daop) and Regional Divisions (Divre). The souvenirs included train ticket vouchers, goodie bags, T-shirts, face masks, and various other exclusive merchandise.

The souvenirs were distributed to customers who actively purchased train tickets through the KAI Access application, as well as prospective passengers visiting Customer Service counters. In addition, souvenirs were also presented to passengers on board trains and in station waiting areas.

Besides distributing souvenirs, KAI personnel stationed at railway stations and along railway lines also performed a gesture of appreciation. The salute consisted of placing the right hand across the chest while bowing the head as a symbol of gratitude for the trust customers have placed in KAI over the years.

During the 2021 National Customer Day celebration, many train passengers enthusiastically welcomed KAI's annual appreciation event. One of them was a passenger named Septi.

Septi was traveling on the Taksaka train at Yogyakarta Station when she was pleasantly surprised by a visit from Executive Vice President of Daop 6 Yogyakarta, Asdo Artivianto. Coincidentally, 4 September marked her final day in Yogyakarta. The woman from Lampung had just completed her studies at one of the universities in the city. It also happened to be her birthday. She became emotional as she received a souvenir from the Executive Vice President of Daop 6 Yogyakarta.

"I deliberately chose to travel by train, even though I still had to continue my journey to Lampung by bus, because I wanted to enjoy my final moments in Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta and its trains are filled with memories that will always remain with me. Those memories will never be forgotten," said Septi.

Another passenger, Maulana Wahyu Wardana, also expressed his appreciation. He was traveling on the Argo Wilis train, which was passing through KAI Operational Area 7 Madiun. He thanked KAI and expressed his hope that the company would continue to grow and develop in the future.

Throughout the pandemic, KAI has continued to introduce various adaptations, innovations, and collaborations to provide greater protection and convenience for its customers. These efforts include implementing strict health protocols, providing Rapid Antigen Test services, and offering free COVID-19 vaccination services at stations to help passengers meet travel requirements. More recently, KAI introduced Indonesia's first multimodal integration through the KAI Access application by launching a first-mile and last-mile transportation feature with fixed fares in collaboration with Bluebird. These additional features and services were introduced to further improve the customer experience.

"On this National Customer Day, KAI hopes to continue delivering excellent service to all our customers wherever they are. Happy National Customer Day, and thank you for continuing to choose train travel as a safe, healthy, and comfortable mode of transportation during the pandemic," said KAI Vice President Public Relations Joni Martinus.
